Data Sources and Freshness
FX Converter retrieves current and historical foreign-exchange observations from Financial Modeling Prep (FMP) and stores each observation with its source identifier. Availability and redistribution remain subject to the provider agreement.

Current rates
Current mid-market reference rates are cached and refreshed about every 10 minutes. Each rate page displays its observation timestamp.
Daily history
Daily observations are stored in PostgreSQL with the pair, UTC market date, interval, source identifier, and integer-scaled rate. History availability varies by currency.
Stale-data handling
If the current feed is temporarily unavailable, the service may show the last stored rate instead of failing. The interface labels that value as cached and retains its original timestamp.
Reference rates are not quotes
Banks, cards, brokers, and transfer services can add spreads, commissions, or other fees. Their executable customer rate can differ from the mid-market reference.
